To maintain its status as the Centre for quality education, the current administration plans to ensure the establishment of a Knowledge City for private investors interested in setting up educational institutions.  The site of the  proposed knowledge city is located within an existing cluster of institutions; the National Teachers Institute, Petroleum Technology Institute, and the National Open University.

This move is to reduce the amount of money spent on overseas education. Available information shows that Nigerians spend over $7 billion quality  education outside the country. The Kaduna knowledge city provides an opportunity for private sector players to participate key into this sector.
